Two DDay Aviators Locations
One thing many people don’t realize is that DDay Aviators actually has two locations in Arromanches:
- DDay Aviators (main house) — located right on Place du 6 Juin in the town center, with views over the square.
- DDay Aviators Le Manoir — a beautiful, historic manor house just a short walk away (this is where we stayed)

Both properties share the same WWII spirit and aviation theme, but Le Manoir has larger, more spacious rooms and a quieter setting while still being within walking distance of everything. You can check out both options on their website.
Where to Book DDay Aviators
I discovered DDay Aviators through Delta Vacations, and I’m so glad we did. Not only did booking through them help me earn extra SkyMiles as a Delta SkyMiles member, but I was also able to bundle our stay with a rental car, which made exploring the region even easier. That said, if you’re booking directly, their rates are still incredibly affordable, especially considering the uniqueness of the experience.
Room prices are available directly on their site and vary depending on the room style. Every room offers something different — each with a theme inspired by D-Day aviation heroes.
Room B6 at DDay Aviators Le Manoir
We stayed in Room B6 at Le Manoir, and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the options. The room was very spacious, with historic décor, aviation details, and vintage touches that made it feel like stepping into the past. The bed was comfortable, the layout was cozy, and the attention to detail throughout was remarkable. Everything was clean and thoughtfully designed — from the framed maps to the wartime-era desk.
One of my favorite parts? The view of Mulberry Harbour right from our window. Waking up and seeing the remnants of the harbor where history was made was surreal. The bathroom and shower were also impeccable — honestly, I could have moved in permanently!

Each room across both properties has its own story, which you can read more about here. What ties them all together is the atmosphere of reverence and storytelling.
A Private Tour You’ll Never Forget
What sets this B&B apart isn’t just the décor — it’s the people behind it.
When we arrived, the husband of the couple who owns DDay Aviators personally gave us a full private tour of the manor. We saw the incredible WWII collection they’ve spent over 20 years gathering — aviation helmets, uniforms, maps, photographs, medals, and more. It was like walking through a private museum, but with the benefit of one-on-one commentary.
After the tour, we sat down in his office, where he graciously answered all of our WWII questions and shared more about how the collection came to be. It was clear that this wasn’t just a hotel — it was a passion project, a tribute to the heroes of D-Day, and a place built with purpose. He even told us stories about his adorable dog, which made the entire experience feel personal and warm.
The Breakfast Spread at DDay Aviators
Your stay includes a complimentary express breakfast, which comes with a croissant, a hot drink, and a cold drink — perfect for those heading out early to explore.
But if you have time, definitely upgrade to the full breakfast, which we did. It’s served between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. (with earlier options available upon request) and includes:
- French bread, local jams, Normandy cheeses
- Fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts
- Croissants, brioches, and other viennoiseries
- Ham and other proteins
- Apple juice, orange juice
- Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate
It was the perfect start to a day of walking the beaches and exploring museums.
Walking Distance to Key WWII Sites
What makes DDay Aviators even more ideal is its central location. Situated in Arromanches-les-Bains, you’re within walking distance of:
- The D-Day Museum (Musée du Débarquement)
- The Mulberry Harbour remains, still visible on the beach
- Cafés, restaurants, and souvenir shops
- The seaside promenade and cliffs
We found this location to be perfect for breaking up our trip across the D-Day beaches. Since Arromanches is relatively central, we were able to visit Omaha, Juno, and Sword Beaches without too much driving — making our short 1.5-day stay feel seamless and well-paced.
Parking and Access
Another plus? The property offers free parking, which is a big deal in this part of France. We never had to worry about where to leave our rental car — everything was easy and accessible.
